The guide behind the ember
Toni is a trauma-informed wellness guide, ceremonial practitioner, and the founder of Embers Rising. She built this sanctuary because she needed it first.
There was a version of me who kept going because stopping felt more dangerous than moving. I knew how to survive. I had been doing it my whole life. What I did not know — what no one had ever shown me — was how to actually live inside my own body without bracing for the next thing.
The turning point was not a single moment. It was a thousand small ones. A breath I finally let all the way out. A morning I sat with my grief instead of outrunning it. A ritual so simple it almost felt like nothing — until I realized it was the first time in years I had felt like myself.
That is when I understood what I was being called to build. Not a program. Not a method. A sanctuary. A place where people could come exactly as they are — exhausted, tender, half-rebuilt — and find the tools to tend their own fire.
My practice is rooted in nervous system literacy, somatic awareness, and the belief that healing is not linear — it is ceremonial. It circles back. It asks you to return.
Before we can do the deep work, the body needs to feel safe enough to do it. I teach people to read their own nervous system — to recognize the signals, honor the patterns, and gently expand their window of tolerance. Not through force. Through practice.
Ceremony is one of the oldest healing technologies we have. I use micro-rituals — small, repeatable acts of intention — to help people build an internal architecture of safety. When the world feels unstable, your rituals become the ground you stand on.
The body is not separate from the healing. Grief lives in the tissue. Trauma locks in the hips. Joy moves through the chest before the mind names it. I work with both movement and stillness — because the body needs both to complete what it started.
We were never meant to heal alone. The nervous system co-regulates — it learns safety from other nervous systems. The Embers Rising community is not a backdrop. It is part of the medicine.
I am not a guru. I am not here to hand you a map and tell you where to go. I am a guide — which means I have walked some of this terrain, I know where the ground gets soft, and I will stay beside you while you find your footing.
My role is to witness. To hold the space steady while you do the work that only you can do. To remind you, when the fire feels low, that embers do not need to roar. They only need to be kept.
This is the thing I most want you to know. Not as a metaphor — as a fact. The capacity for warmth, for return, for beginning again — it is already in you. It has always been there. Embers Rising exists to help you find your way back to it.
